Safety Tips for riding a scooter

1. Firstly, look for a high-quality scooter with a good suspension, engine (if gas or electric scooter) and brakes.
2. Secondly, scooters should only be ridden in good light and on smooth surfaces. This could also include avoiding night-times, dark areas and wet or uneven surfaces with the scooter.

4. Fourthly, as a general rule, children aged eight and under should not use any scooters without close adult supervision.
5. Fifthly, take the time to inspect your scooter regularly for damage, defects, loose parts, cracked or broken areas, sharp edges, etc. Catch any potential problems before an injury or accident occurs.
6. Sixthly, all riders of motorised scooters should obey all applicable motorized vehicle rules, including obeying all street rules and signs.
7. Seventhly, make sure you know and obey the traffic rules on the road/footpath, and a wear a helmet on your scooter at all times when riding the scooter.
