Gas Powered Scooters

1. Gas scooters
While not as popular today as in the past, the first generation of gas scooters did not emerge until the middle of the 20th century. This was due to mass gas scooter design, production and manufacture happening because of high demand for cheap and affordable transport. In 1938, Fiat designed the first prototypes for a gas scooter. It was not till after World Ware Two, that gas scooters design and production really took off. In 1946, Paparinos Gas Powered Scooters were manufactured in Piaggio, Italy. This cumbersome, ugly, 98cc prototype was designed by Corradino d'Ascanio and consisted of identical solid dish wheels which were interchangeable. Other models such were Lambrettas gas Scooters were then manufactured in 1947 and provided a different type of model of scooter for the consumer to enjoy. The first Lambrettas Scooters were very basic looking and the gas powered scooters, had three gears and powerful motors capable of 42mph. Other the next few years, Lambretta produced the Models 'B', with a new handlebar gear-shift mechanism, luggage compartment and red paint job on the body-work. He also designed and manufactured model ‘c’ which was the same as the ‘b’ model but included spare wheel on the back. By 1949 in Italy, there were 110,000 gas powered scooters on the road.

Today, the popularity of these types of scooters goes from strength to strength. A popular design is the BWIZ build by Yamahas. This model contains a jazzy styling and chunky balloon tires as well as latest gas engines to power them. Another popular model of gas scooters includes the XC505GT2 Torando, which has an engine of 42CC and its speed reaches between 20 to 30 mph. Other popular models include A-10 Thunderbolt and P-51 Mustang, which both have an engine size of 49CC and can reach speeds of 25 to 30 mph.
